My History and Future

My name is Craig Howard

I have worked in and around nonprofit organizations since 1998, when I co-founded the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation. Before that I worked in satellite technologies, opening markets across the Middle East, north Africa, Asia, and the US.

Since 2006 I have been an active member of the board of directors of The Museum of Flight in Seattle, the largest private air and space museum in the world with an annual budget of over $30 million. I am the chair of the Nominating and Governance committee, and served for a year as interim Vice President of Development in 2009 during the great recession. I also served for five years as the Chair of the board's Development committee.

I was the founding Chair of Watershed Development, starting with assets, cash, and commitments of $50 mil to build workforce housing and artisan workspace in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. This is becoming the long needed living and working anchor for arts and artists in Seattle.

I attended Chapman University for two years, and have a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Colorado. I'm active as a seasonal commercial pilot flying in the backcountry of the Cascade mountains, an Advanced EMT, and an artist working in metals.

I love nonprofits,

and the people who make them great
